Hunting on Municipally Owned Land
According to By-Law 3434-2019, residents of the Township can apply for permission to hunt on municipally owned land.
There are a total of eight (8) properties available and permission will be given on a first-come, first-serve basis each season.
The SPRING hunting season will run from April 25 to June 15 each year with applications being accepted starting March 25th.
The FALL hunting season will run from September 3 to December 31 each year with applications being accepted starting August 3rd.
Only residents of the Township will be granted permission to hunt on township property and each resident will only be granted permission to hunt on one (1) property each season.
Residents will be required to show (and have recorded) the following in order to obtain permission :
- A valid Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters card
- A valid Hunting Outdoors Card
- Valid photo identification with proof of residency
- Written permission from adjacent property owners to enter their property to access the township property (*ONLY required for the 6th Concession and 8th Concession properties)
Residents will also be required to complete and sign a Hunting Permission Record & Idemnity Declaration.
Below are the properties available, the limited number of permissions to be given, access information and any restrictions in place for each property:

Industrial Park (Block A) = 2 permissions will be given
Approx. 170 acres, north of the railway tracks along County Road 2, accessible off County Road 31 (Blue Church Road) through Industrial Park Block C. Fall turkey hunting is NOT permitted on this property (as per Ontario Hunting Regulations).
Industrial Park (Block B) = 1 permission will be given
Approx. 18 acres, south of the railway tracks along County Road 2, accessible off County Road 2. Fall turkey hunting is NOT permitted on this property (as per Ontario Hunting Regulations). NO RIFLES are permitted to be used on this property.
Industrial Park (Block C) = 1 permission will be given
Approx. 11 acres, north of the railway tracks along County Road 2, accessible off County Road 31 (Blue Church Road). Fall turkey hunting is NOT permitted on this property (as per Ontario Hunting Regulations). NO RIFLES are permitted to be used on this property.
Coville Road = 1 permission will be given
Approx. 40 acres, across from the North Augusta Transfer site, accessible off Coville Road.
6th Concession = 1 permission will be given
Approx. 100 acres, off Charleville Road, accessible only with written consent (obtained by the requester before permission will be given) from an adjacent property owner.
8th Concession = 1 permission will be given
Approx. 5 acres, off South Branch Road, accessible only with written consent (obtained by the requester before permission will be given) from an adjacent property owner.
Hart Road (Block A) = 1 permission will be given
Approx. 15 acres, off Hart Road, accessible off Hart Road.
Hart Road (Block B) = 1 permission will be given
Approx. 18 acres, off Hart Road, accessible off Hart Road.
NOTE: Residents hunting on municipal land are expected to follow all laws under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act and all Ontario Hunting Regulations.
