A BY-LAW TO PROHIBIT THE RUNNING AT LARGE OF HORSES, CATTLE, SWINE,
SHEEP OR GOATS WITHIN THE LIMITS OF ANY ROAD WITHIN THE TOWNSHIP OF AUGUSTA.
WHEREAS the Corporation of the Township deems it expedient and in the
public interest to prohibit the running at large of horses, cattle, swine,
sheep or goats within the limits of any road within the Township of Augusta.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ENACTED AS A BY-LAW OF THE CORPORATION OF THE
TOWNSHIP OF AUGUSTA AS FOLLOWS:
Every person who, being the owner or having the care, custody or control of
horses, cattle, swine, sheep or goats, suffers or permits them or any of
them to run at large within the road limits of any road within the Township
of Augusta, is guilty of an offence and on summary conviction is liable to
a fine of not more than $5.00 for every such animal found at large upon the
road, but this by-law does not create any civil liability on the part of the
owner of the animal for damage caused to property of others as a result of
the animal running at large within the limits of the roads within the Township
of Augusta.
